Louie The Red Poodle – The Call of the Wild
Hello again. Louie the Red Poodle here with thoughts about a book called The Call of the Wild. Someone asked me what it was about dogs that I loved. I been thinking about it so much that my brain hurts. My mom, Michelle, knew something was on my mind–she’s kind of telepathic. So, she showed me a book called The Call of the Wild written by a man named Jack London. I was curious so Michelle agreed to read it to me.
Buck is a St Bernard and Scottish Shepard mix
On the cover of Classics Illustrated is this majestic mix of St. Bernard and Scottish Shepard. To the left he looks like his father and below like his mother. His name is Buck and Call of the Wild is his story.
I am touched by Buck’s spirit no matter what he looks like.
The Beginning – Buck Living Grand
Buck has a grand life. He was born and lives on a big estate in California. His life is more than comfortable and he is treated like a king. He can roam around the grounds, play with other dogs, or run with the horses any time he wants.
In the evenings he hangs with the Judge, his master, staying warm by the fire. Unlike me, it seems that he can do pretty much anything he wants. I get in trouble every time I surf the counter. That is if I get caught.
As far as it goes, Buck has everything he could possibly want. But, the story is about the “survival of the fittest” so…
Okay, now I’m scared because that means bad things are going to happen.
I’ll be back with more. In the meantime you can pick up a copy at Amazon.
PS It’s also a story about love.
